Procedure to upload online video/ready-made videos on the blog

Procedure to upload online video/ready-made videos on the blog

                 Go to compose in blog
                 Click the video icons
Choose the topic you want to upload by typing the title of the book or videos in YouTube

Steps to create Camtasia video

We were introduced to the editing software ‘Camtasia” version 6.0 & 8.0. It can not only video editing software but also edit file and images which I find it interesting. Four features of Camtasia are record screen, record vice narration, record power point and import media. Sir explained us the function of each features of the software and later made us edit a video of our own by following the instruction.
To edit a video, file or image the first thing to do is go to import media in the left pane.
Select a video from your computer and drop it in the empty space on right to the video on left bottom corner.
A dialogue box pops up select custom. Add more videos or images.
We can delete the unwanted parts or scenes and also audio from the video.
Mark the video and a red triangle with a long line show and go to split near the scissor icon in the task bar right above the video.
We can insert other images, files or video in between the split videos.
Once its split we can select it and press the delete the key on the keyboard.
Same can done to delete the audio of the video where you just want the movement of the image and you can add another sound the video.
To add a new audio, go to import media and select any audio from your computer and drag it to the empty audio pane below the video pane.
The lock icon on the left of the both video and audio can lock the selected audio and video so when we continue editing it gets locked meaning it done.
Storyboard tell us number of scenes we have and we can add transition in between two scenes. Go to transition in the left pane, select any one, drag and drop in between the scenes.
We can give title to our video in Title clips. One interesting and distinct feature about this editing software is Flash quiz and survey manager where we can ask students questions through quiz and survey while watching the video and if they couldn’t answer the video won’t proceed and that’s the interesting part.
Once you add quiz and survey in your video a purple diamond in the video pane show indicating on which part of your video the quiz is there.
The session was closed by asking us to practice and explore more on Camtasia so we don’t forget what we learned in the class. There is a tendency that we forget if we don’t keep in constant touch.

Steps of Creating Google Classroom

Creating Google Classroom
Google Classroom is one of the components of Google for Education similar to Drive, Docs and Gmail that is meant for educational use. It is a space for creating a virtual classroom whereby the teachers can upload reading materials, assign assignments and the students can download assignments.
Procedural steps of creating Google Classroom;
First, we need to go to www.google.com from Google chrom. Then we can join other’s classes or create our own class by clicking on the plus icon.

Find out how your classroom would look like. But before that you fill in the following to create your class.

This is how our classroom would look like. It will have three parts the stream, students and about.

Under stream we can create announcements, assignments, and questions for our students by clicking on the plus icon. Under Students section we can invite students for our class through their Gmail accounts as shown below.

And finally under the about section we can upload teaching and learning materials by clicking on +Add reading materials.

Advantages of Google Classroom
Good thing about using Google classroom is that the students can work on and turn in assignments, even from their cellphones. And teachers can grade them online.
Moreover teachers can also email reminders and announcements directly to parents, decreasing the likelihood that important permission slips get lost in backpacks on the way home.
However few note that while it’s possible to work offline, uploading assignments and collaborating with others in Google Classroom ultimately requires a reliable internet connection which can be a tentative block for rural districts that don’t have access to fast Wi-Fi.

How to create blogger

How to Create a Blog
Blog is a website that allows users to reflect, share opinions, and discuss various topics in the form of an online journal. And a person who writes in the blog is called blogger.
To start a blog, first go to www.blogger.com. The following page will appear:

Next you will be asked to sign in with your Gmail account.

Next you will be asked to sign in with your Gmail account as shown:

After you sign in with your google, the following dialog box will appear where you need to  create a title, blog address and theme for your new blog.

Then, you will see the following interface. And in order to post in your blog, click on  New Post and to view you blog click on view blog.

The following page will appear. You can write here and even upload pictures and videos related to your post.

I think creating a blog is a great way of advertising your potentials to the world. It offers a big platform for making money in this 21st century world. Moreover it is good tool for writing our journals since we will have less chances of losing it unlike the paper diary journals.
However I find the features in this blog limited because it has fewer features compared to word document. We get fewer features to format word and pictures in this blog.

Intregration of ICT(Phet simulation)

We learned to use simulation, one of the example of ICT integration to teach a topic “connection in parallel” from class IV science. Sir gave a sample handout of integrated lesson plan and explore the lesson effectiveness to the students.  There are many ways to teach this topic and the simplest could be to bring the materials and manually fix them but it is not easy to give all the students all the required materials and a teacher should always keep safety of students as the top priority. It is not always safe when dealing with electrical appliances.
When we say ICT integration, we only think of making a power point, showing images and videos that a student has already seen in real life rather it is more than that. It is making the lesson interesting by engaging the students in a positive way. The sample sir provided was one of it. It is called learning through simulation. We have to go to “PhET Simulation (http://phet.colorado.eduu/en/simulation/legacy/circiut-circuit-construction-kit-ac.)” in google search engine. Click on PhET Simulation-circuit construction-down on left bottom corner-run.
Once we get to the simulation board we can literally connect and play with the electrical appliances like battery, switch, bulb, resistor and many more. It allows students to explore beyond the textbook knowledge. They can actually assess their understanding of the concept by trying many times and they don’t have to wait for the teacher. They can also teach one another and build many social skills necessary to function in this world. We can make students have the best and lifelong experience of their life by teaching any topic through ICT integration and making them enjoy and learn at the same time.
