Creating Google Classroom
Google Classroom is one of the components of Google for Education similar to Drive, Docs and Gmail that is meant for educational use. It is a space for creating a virtual classroom whereby the teachers can upload reading materials, assign assignments and the students can download assignments.
Procedural steps of creating Google Classroom;
First, we need to go to www.google.com from Google chrom. Then we can join other’s classes or create our own class by clicking on the plus icon.
Find out how your classroom would look like. But before that you fill in the following to create your class.
This is how our classroom would look like. It will have three parts the stream, students and about.
Under stream we can create announcements, assignments, and questions for our students by clicking on the plus icon. Under Students section we can invite students for our class through their Gmail accounts as shown below.

And finally under the about section we can upload teaching and learning materials by clicking on +Add reading materials.
Advantages of Google Classroom
Good thing about using Google classroom is that the students can work on and turn in assignments, even from their cellphones. And teachers can grade them online.
Moreover teachers can also email reminders and announcements directly to parents, decreasing the likelihood that important permission slips get lost in backpacks on the way home.
However few note that while it’s possible to work offline, uploading assignments and collaborating with others in Google Classroom ultimately requires a reliable internet connection which can be a tentative block for rural districts that don’t have access to fast Wi-Fi.
