Using ICT as an informative tool
ICT as an Informative tool is an
application which provides vast repositories of information to learners’
activity. It provides information in various forms, such as text, graphics,
sound, image, and video. It includes multimedia encyclopedias or resources
available on the internet.
The main purpose was to examine how Internet resource tools
were used, from the searching for relevant materials to the presentation of the
resources collected. The tools support higher-order thinking about
hypermedia resources to help students find, frame and resolve open-ended
problems. It provides an information/ reference/ content for the students in
the beginning or during or after the activity. Helps students to analyze,
synthesize, manipulate and moreover construct their own knowledge and meaning.
However informative tools alone may not be sufficient to
help students manage extensive hypermedia resources. It is only together
with appropriate support structures that the potential of informative tools for
engaging students in higher-order thinking is more likely to be realized.
Therefore, we were taught different types of informative
tools and how to use them to find information.
1 1.Text: The characters that are used to create
letters, words, sentence, and paragraph.
22. Image: A representation of the
external form of a person or thing in art.
33. Sound: Vibrations that travel through
the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a
person’s or
animal’s ear.
4.Video: Refers to displaying images and text on a computer monitor.
5. Animation: Graphics that create
an illusion of motion.
