We were introduced to the editing software ‘Camtasia” version 6.0 & 8.0. It can not only video editing software but also edit file and images which I find it interesting. Four features of Camtasia are record screen, record vice narration, record power point and import media. Sir explained us the function of each features of the software and later made us edit a video of our own by following the instruction.
To edit a video, file or image the first thing to do is go to import media in the left pane.
Select a video from your computer and drop it in the empty space on right to the video on left bottom corner.
A dialogue box pops up select custom. Add more videos or images.
We can delete the unwanted parts or scenes and also audio from the video.
Mark the video and a red triangle with a long line show and go to split near the scissor icon in the task bar right above the video.
We can insert other images, files or video in between the split videos.
Once its split we can select it and press the delete the key on the keyboard.
Same can done to delete the audio of the video where you just want the movement of the image and you can add another sound the video.
To add a new audio, go to import media and select any audio from your computer and drag it to the empty audio pane below the video pane.
The lock icon on the left of the both video and audio can lock the selected audio and video so when we continue editing it gets locked meaning it done.
Storyboard tell us number of scenes we have and we can add transition in between two scenes. Go to transition in the left pane, select any one, drag and drop in between the scenes.
We can give title to our video in Title clips. One interesting and distinct feature about this editing software is Flash quiz and survey manager where we can ask students questions through quiz and survey while watching the video and if they couldn’t answer the video won’t proceed and that’s the interesting part.
Once you add quiz and survey in your video a purple diamond in the video pane show indicating on which part of your video the quiz is there.

The session was closed by asking us to practice and explore more on Camtasia so we don’t forget what we learned in the class. There is a tendency that we forget if we don’t keep in constant touch.
